Mount Zion Cafe Catering is a division of the Nutrition & Food Services Department (NFS) and our non-profit Medical Center department has the mission to provide the highest quality of service to faculty, staff, students and the community and all revenue generated by Mount Zion Café Catering goes back the Medical Center.
Mount Zion Café Catering welcomes the opportunity to serve you. In order to successfully respond to your needs and serve you to the fullest, the following policies and procedures apply to all catering orders.
Because of our streamlined operation, Mount Zion Café Catering is able to accommodate orders for up to 20 guests with a minimum order of 10. For larger events, please contact Moffitt Catering – moffitt.catering@ucsfmedctr.org or (415) 353-1325
We recommend booking as early as possible. At least 3 days’ notice is preferred. Your order can be placed online at - ucsfmz.catertrax.com. Orders are processed daily. You will receive email notification when your order is placed online. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your order has not been placed.

University events are recharged on-line and require a Department ID & Speed Type number for UCSF Campus charges, and a Cost Center number for the Medical Center. These numbers need to be provided when you place your order online. University clients using a recharge number are not subject to sales tax.
Clients not using a University recharge may pay with a check (please present with a photo ID) payable to UC Regents. Non-University events are subject to prevailing sales tax rates.
To avoid a cancellation fee, your order must be cancelled by 3 pm two (2) business days prior to your event. Same day cancellations will be charged 50% of the cost of your total order.
Mount Zion Catering services are available M-F, 6:30 am to 3 pm for pickup (no charge).
Delivery is only available within 1600 Divisadero, Buildings A, B, C, D, H and R with a minimum order for 10 guests. A $15 delivery fee will be added to your invoice total.
For delivery the event location must be unlocked and available at least 30 minutes prior to the event start time and all necessary tables, chairs refuse bins must be arranged for by your department.
If we must make a return trip to deliver or pick-up due to locked rooms,meetings running late, equipment has been taken to a new location, or any other reason that prevents us from setting up or breaking down at a specific time, and Mount Zion Catering was not informed, an additional $15 fee will be charged. If you choose to return the equipment to the Café on your own, no additional fee will be charged.
You are responsible for the safekeeping of all Mount Zion Catering equipment dropped off at the site and any lost or damaged equipment will be charged at full replacement value.
There is no gratuity charge added to your bill and Mount Zion Catering employees may not accept gratuities.
We know that accuracy and timeliness are everything when it comes to the success of your event. Mount Zion Catering extends to all our customers our service guarantee: If your catering order is not complete and ready at the time listed on the event order, we will deduct 25% from your bill.
On occasion there are circumstances that are beyond our control and this may not apply. In these instances we will do everything in our power to keep you apprised of the situation well in advance.
Mount Zion Catering is closed on weekend and all official UCSF holidays.
